About
Toshiko Honjo
My interest in the technical aspects of the piano started when I was working on my Master Degree in piano performance. Fellow classmates told me that pianists never know the technical aspects of their instruments and I was ashamed to not be able to replace a string or tune an errant pitch. Once I learned a little about the craftsmanship that is involved, I wanted to know much more and my interest led me to enter the field.
Since then, I had have divided my time between teaching and developing my skills as a technician. After three years of being an intern at Northwestern University, I felt that I have a sturdy foundation. As an intern at Northwesterun University for three years, I developed a strong foundation as a piano technician.
After my internship, I had been working worked as a piano technician in at Kawai and Fazioli piano dealers in Chicago and Toronto.
In the store At both stores, I was responsible for floor tuning, customers tuning, voicing, and regulations. While, there I learned regulations and voicing from a Kawai Concert Tuner, Terry Otake.
I will be very happy to work on your pianos at home!
